Health Work Project
In India, millions die from diseases that could have been treated if diagnosed at the right time.
With the goal of providing a better health and awareness among the slum dwellers our Health care project was initiated.
Why Health Work?
Slum dwellers in India do not have access to basic health care and they are unaware of the consequences of poor hygiene. Besides the burden of communicable diseases and malnutrition (especially in children), risk of diseases are being evidenced. As a result in India, millions die from diseases that can be treated if diagnosed at right time. With the goal of providing a better health and awareness among the slum dwellers our Health care project was initiated. This is a helpful contribution towards preventing the deaths that can be avoided, we can also see some significant results pointing towards the same.
Our Vision
Currently 40,000+ slum houses have been visited and hundreds of medical packets are being distributed to the slum dwellers. We have a team of 30 female Primary Health Workers who are visiting families in the slum areas and are helping to provide basic health care check-ups. They also are helping to promote general awareness of health and hygiene in the slums. We are having very encouraging results due to this project. In the areas where the medical help has been provided we have witnessed infant death rates to drastically decrease.
